On Wednesday Mr Longley, Mr Roberts, Mrs Erodagan, Mrs Chester and Mrs Rutter took 41 pupils to Mold Alun high school to take part in a TATA steel kids triathlon. We had to do a 50m swim, 1km bike ride and a 400m without stopping in between!
When we arrived at mold Alun we got took into a hall and received a bucket a bag a swimming hat and a t-shirt. Once we had all our equipment we went into the changing rooms and got changed and went to the pool. The marshalls' briefed us about what we had to do then we were off!
Once we completed our swim we had to quickly put our shoes and top on over swimming costume or shorts. After that we sprinted to the bikes then we did 2 laps of the field. After that we ran off the grass onto the astro turf and ran round it to the finish line. Once we had finished we got a medal and went an cheered everyone on.
One of the best moments was when Ben and Tyler led the team home hand in hand crossing the finish line together! Ruby led the girls home and Rhieyen won the prize for best pose award crossing the finish line!
We would all like to say a huge thank you to Mr Longley for arranging all of this and Mr Liptrot for letting us go, and thank you to all the staff that came with us and all the parents that supported us.
On Friday the 4th of March we celebrated World Book Day. We all dressed up as characters from a favourite book and there were many amazing costumes on display. Quite a few children were dressed as Harry Potter characters. And even some boys dressed up as girls! Some girls came in as princesses. It was wonderful seeing the children dressed up as book characters. Phoebe W, Yr 4, dressed up as Billionaire Boy. Ben, Yr 6, Dressed up as Gangsta Granny and Cory, Yr 5, Dressed up as Charlie Bucket from Roald Dahl's 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'. We all had a great time and would like to do it again next year. Also, on the same day, we did a Dragon Designing competition! Whoever wins gets to choose a book from the book fair for Free! Here are some pictures from the day.
On Friday 4th December the whole school gathered in the hall to watch a pantomime called Jack and the Beanstalk. It was really funny and the children got involved in the show and some also got to meet the actors afterwards.
The story was about Jack and a beanstalk, the giant had a cold and offered a reward to anyone who helped him. The baddy was called Mayor Bushee who was trying to raise the taxes to make himself rich. He also wanted his daughter to marry a rich King but she loved Jack. Jack with the help of his hilarious friend Barney managed to save the day.
Everyone had a great time watching the show and were cheering and dancing along as well as the usual 'it's behind you'!!!!
Here is what the children thought about the play.
"It made me happy and I laughed a lot" said Libby in Early Years.
"I thought it was very funny, I loved it" explained Ruby in FB.
Arnav from JL stated that "The play was excellent and I liked the actors. My favourite character was Barny because he was funny."
"They were really nice and really fun, I really liked it" added Kinga from JL.
