What amazing entries we have had for the pumpkin competition! You have all been very busy and extremely creative!
They are all named and ready for the voting to begin. Each year group across school will come and choose their favourite and winners will be announced on Friday.
Thank you for all who have entered and the hard work you have put in with your children. Your donations have been gratefully received and will go into the Infant Business pot ready for our summer school trip.
P.S. Don't forget to visit the year 1 and 2 shop at the end of each day to enter a pumpkin number guessing game and to buy a hand-made (by the children) chocolate decorated apple. See you there!
CAN YOU HELP US?
The English group pirates have hidden treasure around Sandycroft school and the local area.
There are 12 named coins to be found.
How many have you spotted?
Please help us find them. Once you have spotted a golden coin let us know which coin it was and where it was hiding by writing in the comments box below.
Happy treasure hunting!!
Mrs.Dunbar's English group have been reading the book 'Silly Billy' by Anthony Brown. We have discussed the origins of worry dolls and the importance of them in other cultures. The children have then created their own worry dolls. The group wrote instructions and then created a fact sheet on the iPad to explain their importance and use!
Fairytale Bake Off - A 'sweet' success!!
What a fantastic day, full of enrichment to the curriculum and smiles from the children!
We began the day with the children entering school dressed in wonderful Fairytale outfits closely followed by parents holding the most fantastic cakes! The children then spent the afternoon walking to Mancot library where they read and listened to stories. Finally it ended with an amazing bake-off event that even Mary Berry would have been proud of!
We cannot thank you all enough for spending time with your children to create such wonderful cakes, this has helped enthused the children for our new Fairytale topic next term. It was also lovely to see so many family's after school judging the enteries; and listening to the children praise their peers and vote for their cake.
The children will be counting the votes tomorrow and winners will be announced in superstar assembly!
Can we also say a huge thank you to the volunteers at Mancot library who opened it just for us; and thank you to the co-op for their cake donations. All money raised will go towards our Spring trip to Greenacres Farm Park!
