Working Victorian Children
This week we have been doing a lot of work on Victorians, we have been learning about all the children working in places like shoe factories, laundresses and mines. At the beginning of the week we completed a KWHL grid to explain what we already know about the Victorians and what we would like to find out. Using a timeline we placed the Victorian era on a historic events list. We labelled three pictures of children that was working in these places and began to describe the working conditions. We have also looked at some art work by William Morris and had a go at drawing sections of his work using a view finder. The class really enjoyed the art work. See the slideshow to see some examples of our work. By Alicia and Kaitlin.
